Basic Ever After High Royals and Rebels Re-releases 2015

Under the line name First Chapter, Mattel decided to re-release the signature Royals and Rebels: Apple White, Raven Queen, Briar Beauty, Madeline Hatter, Blondie Lockes, C. A. Cupid, Cerise Hood, Cedar Wood, Dexter Charming, Lizzie Hearts, Holly & Poppy O’Hair and Ashlynn Ella & Hunter Huntsman. You have probably already seen some of them in stores.  I think it’s a great idea to re-release these dolls, but why do they lack so many details? I found some pictures on google so let’s have a quick comparison.

Apple White Original & Re-release

No stockings, ring and bracelet. Gold elements on shoes and purse missing. Dress lacks detail.

Briar Beauty Original & Re-release

Smaller bun (or no bun?) on the side of her head. Different stockings without pattern. No ring, no bracelet. Single color necklace.

Lizzie Hearts Original & Re-release

Different hairstyle.  No ring. Gold elements on crown, shoes and purse missing. Less detailed necklace.

Madeline Hatter Original & Re-release

Straight hair, no curls. Painted details missing on her hat, necklace, gloves and kettle. No ring.

This is just the example.  If you were going to buy one of these dolls, I would highly recommend getting the original ones when they are still available, since the price on both original and re-released doll is the same.

What do you think about new re-releases?
